Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Breast Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality breast ultrasound examinations and provide accurate diagnostic imaging support to radiologists and the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent patient communication skills, and experience working in a breast imaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic breast ultrasound examinations and capture high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
- Evaluate and document relevant anatomy, pathology, and critical findings.
- Review prior imaging and reports before completing examinations.
- Document patient history and examination results accurately.
- Present images and preliminary findings to radiologists and the healthcare team.
- Collaborate closely with mammography technologists and radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and patient information are available.
- Explain procedures to patients and provide clear instructions throughout the examination.
- Communicate with radiologists, physicians, patients, and staff regarding ultrasound services and examinations.
- Utilize PACS, RIS, EMR, and other imaging-related systems.
- Inspect and maintain ultrasound equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain appropriate supplies and support efficient ultrasound department operations.
- Serve as a liaison between sonographers and radiologists when needed.
- Train and support new and current sonographers as required.
- Complete required compliance, education, and training activities.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned..
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS Registered Sonographer.
- Advanced Breast Registry or eligibility to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- 1 year of experience as a Breast Sonographer.
- Experience working with PACS and RIS systems.
- Strong communication, critical-thinking, active-listening, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively with radiologists, mammography technologists, physicians, and administrative staff.
Salary : $35 - $41
