Job Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to contribute the sales expansion and profitability for the utility & solutions business. You will establish and nurture relationships with National Distributors, Utilities, driving purchasing decisions and business growth. This role demands strategic planning, proactive customer engagement, and a knack for turning opportunities into successful partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Build and maintain relationships with National Distributors and Utilities to drive sales and increase profitability.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute business plans, leveraging innovative solutions to meet and exceed sales targets. Teams with individuals within inside sales & sales rep, and other key personnel to communicate account plans, Sales target, pricing, and offer assistance to drive sales.
- Product Approvals: Collaborate with engineers to ensure product compliance.
- Network Optimization: Review and enhance the performance of the current sales agent network while addressing gaps in territory coverage.
- Product Development & Launch: Work with internal teams to launch new products effectively and drive adoption within the sales network.
- Customer Relations: Act as a technical advisor, addressing field quality issues and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely resolutions.
- Tradeshow Engagement: Plan and participate in industry tradeshows to strengthen relationships and explore new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in business development and sales in the utility or commodities industry.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 per year (plus bonus opportunities)
