Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout electrical substations using AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D
- Develop 3D models and assemblies
- Generate material lists and assembly drawings
- Maintain and organize CAD files with Autodesk Vault
- Adhere to industry standards, codes, and project specifications
- Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and manufacturers
- Support ongoing project documentation and updates
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, Inventor 3D, and Vault preferred
- Understanding of electrical and substation design principles
- Strong communication skills—verbal and written
- Problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail
- Fundamental understanding of geometry and mathematics
- 0-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with SDS (Substation Design Suite) or SBS Software
- Background in steel design or structural steel experience
- Transferable skills in Revit, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Electrical
- Power utility or engineering consulting background
- Technical school certification or skilled trades training in electrical or civil engineering
- Relevant industry experience is a plus but open to trainable candidates coming out of college
- Willingness to work primarily onsite; hybrid option for highly experienced candidates
- Strong desire to learn and grow within the company
- Pass the standard background check and have the ability to undertake the physical demands of the role
