What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager position at Staffing Science?
Project Manager
Contract-to-Hire ·Greater Phoenix Area (Hybrid-mostly remote but occasional in-person collaboration 1 day per week at most)
About the Role
A fast-growing technology company is looking for a sharp, execution-focused Project Manager to join its product and engineering organization. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed to move quickly — the right candidate will step in, establish credibility fast, and grow into a permanent seat on the team.
You'll be embedded alongside product managers and engineering leads, driving initiative delivery across a complex, high-velocity environment. This is not a meeting-scheduler role. We need someone who owns outcomes, unblocks teams, and brings structure without bureaucracy.
The ideal candidate has a background working inside product-led companies — places where the roadmap moves fast, dependencies are real, and the line between PM and Scrum Master is intentionally blurry. If you thrive in that kind of environment, this role is built for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Drive end-to-end project delivery across product and engineering initiatives — from kickoff through launch
- Own dependency mapping and cross-team coordination, proactively surfacing and resolving blockers before they become problems
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to align on scope, timelines, and delivery milestones
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews) and keep teams running clean
- Maintain crisp, stakeholder-ready project status and reporting without over-engineering the process
- Lead or support workstreams tied to platform consolidation — bringing acquired systems or fragmented experiences under a unified product umbrella
- Help the organization move from "many tools, many workflows" to standardized, scalable delivery processes
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of project or program management experience inside product-driven tech companies
- Demonstrated Scrum Master experience or certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent practical background)
- Strong command of SDLC — you understand how software gets built and you know how to move it forward
- Expert-level dependency management: you track them, communicate them, and don't let them quietly derail a sprint
- Experience managing projects involving platform migrations, system consolidations, or product unification — taking what was many and making it one
- Equally comfortable in a planning meeting and a war room — you flex to what the situation needs
- Strong communicator who can translate complexity into clear language for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Phoenix metro based (or willing to be) — this role requires occasional in-person collaboration
Nice to Have
- Experience at a PropTech, real estate technology, or multifamily operations company
- Familiarity with smart home technology, IoT platforms, or connected device ecosystems
- Hands-on experience leading or contributing to a platform consolidation following an acquisition or merger
- Background working with enterprise SaaS products at scale
Engagement Details
This role begins as a contract engagement with a clear path to full-time conversion for the right candidate. The expectation is a hybrid arrangement — primarily remote with periodic in-person collaboration at the company's Greater Phoenix area office.
Candidates must be located in the Greater Phoenix metro to be considered for this opportunity.
