Schedule: Monday – Friday | Full-Time | In Office

About Our Client

Our client is a growing public accounting and advisory firm serving small business owners, real estate investors, and entrepreneurs throughout Western Washington.

This is not a traditional tax preparation role.

The firm is seeking a Tax Manager who enjoys building client relationships, mentoring team members, improving processes, and helping clients make informed financial decisions. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of clients while helping support the growth and development of a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate is looking for more responsibility, greater visibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing organization.

What You'll Do:

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for business and individual tax clients
  • Lead client onboarding and review meetings
  • Build long-term client relationships through proactive communication
  • Identify opportunities for additional planning and advisory services
  • Help maintain strong client satisfaction and retention

Tax Review & Compliance

  • Review individual and business tax returns
  • Provide technical guidance and quality control oversight
  • Support complex tax situations involving S-Corporations, partnerships, and multi-entity structures
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of client work

Team Leadership

  • Support, mentor, and develop preparers and bookkeeping staff
  • Review work and provide coaching and feedback
  • Assist with training and onboarding initiatives
  • Help maintain accountability and workflow efficiency

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Improve systems, workflows, and client service processes
  • Assist with software implementation and process improvements
  • Help support the continued growth of the firm

QualificationsRequired

  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA)
  • 5 years of public accounting experience
  • Experience reviewing individual and business tax returns
  • Experience managing client relationships directly
  • Experience mentoring, training, or leading others
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Tax Manager, Tax Supervisor, Senior Tax Associate, or similar experience
  • QuickBooks Online proficiency
  • Experience with Lacerte, TaxDome, Financial Cents, or similar platforms
  • Exposure to tax planning and advisory services
  • Experience working with small business owners and real estate investors

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100,000 - $120,000 annual salary, depending on experience
