An innovative electric mobility company is seeking a Sr. Staff Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced power electronics systems for next-generation micro-mobility vehicles. What You’ll Do
- Act as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for power conversion PCBA development from concept to production.
- Design efficient systems (48–100V, 1–10kW peak power) with cost and performance optimization.
- Plan schedules, manage development steps, test resources, and support contract manufacturer EOL activities.
- Define and validate product requirements across cost, performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct simulations, worst-case analysis, and validation of critical circuits.
- Select and characterize components; drive schematic capture and layout of power electronics, controls, and auxiliary circuits.
- Collaborate with firmware/controls teams on hardware integration and control strategies.
- Deliver functional safety diagnostics and protection circuits.
- Own DFMEA, PFMEA, and validation plans.
- Lead hands-on integration/testing and coordinate with test teams, certification labs, and contract manufacturers.
- Support thermal, EMC, reliability, and NVH testing.
- Provide program status updates to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (power electronics/power systems).
- 8 years of power electronics design experience (traction inverter preferred).
- Expertise in BLDC actuators and position sensors.
- Strong experience with MOSFET, GaN, and SiC switches.
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuits, including microcontrollers/peripherals for power applications.
- Proficiency with simulation tools (LTspice, PLECS, Matlab).
- Hands-on lab experience with power systems (up to 1kV).
- Proven track record of delivering products to market.
- Strong collaboration, ownership mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Salary : $220,000 - $255,000
