Location: On-site in Marietta, GA OR Remote (with occasional travel)

Job Summary
- We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Application Engineer – Service & Parts who supports the Aftermarket division by providing technical expertise on thermal fluid and process heating systems. This role works closely with Service Technicians, Parts, and customers to troubleshoot issues, support retrofits, assist with quotes, and ensure equipment is installed and performing correctly.
- This position requires a strong engineering foundation and practical experience with industrial process equipment.
- Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for customer issues involving thermal fluid systems and process heating equipment.
- Support the Service & Parts team with technical documentation, troubleshooting guidance, and engineering review.
- Assist with retrofit projects, including quoting, budgeting, and technical evaluation of legacy equipment.
- Conduct site visits as needed to evaluate equipment, support installations, or review retrofit needs.
- Perform FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) at Sigma’s manufacturing facility or external fabrication shops.
- Conduct installation inspections at customer sites to ensure system integrity and compliance with engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- 5 years of direct experience designing, engineering, or supporting industrial process equipment (preferably thermal fluid systems, fired heaters, heat transfer skids, or process heating units).
- Strong understanding of technical and commercial aspects of industrial equipment design.
- Excellent engineering judgement, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and fabrication shops on occasion.
- Ability to work safely in industrial environments and on active job sites.

- Timely, accurate engineering support for Service & Parts.
- Strong customer satisfaction on troubleshooting, retrofits, and site evaluations.
- Quality oversight during FATs, installs, and retrofit assessments.
- Contributing to improved revenue and margin within the Service & Parts group through accurate technical input.
What This Role Does Not Include
- No direct reports.
- No heavy travel schedule — only occasional visits for demos, setups, installs, and inspections.
- No sales quotas — this is engineering support, not business development.
