Senior Buyer
Overview:
StaffBuffalo is working with a growing manufacturing organization to hire a Senior Buyer, offering $85,000–$100,000 annually. This is an outstanding opportunity for a procurement professional with tactical buying experience who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys taking ownership of day-to-day purchasing execution.
The Senior Buyer will focus on issuing purchase orders, maintaining accurate ERP data, coordinating with suppliers, supporting production schedules, expediting materials, and improving supplier performance. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys tactical purchasing, attention to detail, and working cross-functionally to keep operations running efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily purchasing activities and issue purchase orders to support production schedules.
- Maintain ERP inventory master data including reorder points, lead times, safety stock, and new part setup.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive on-time delivery, quality, and cost improvements.
- Negotiate carrier agreements and support freight optimization initiatives.
- Develop and qualify new suppliers while reducing supply chain risk.
- Prepare procurement KPI reports and collaborate across departments to resolve material issues.
Qualifications:
- 3–10 years of tactical buying or purchasing experience.
- Manufacturing purchasing experience strongly preferred.
- Experience issuing purchase orders, expediting materials, and managing supplier relationships.
- ERP experience, NetSuite preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple purchasing demands in a fast-paced production environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
