This is a fully onsite opportunity located in Southfield, MI.
What You Will Be Doing
- Support the Tax Director with a broad range of federal, state, international, payroll, sales & use, and indirect tax matters.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing support of Vertex sales and use tax software.
- Prepare tax calculations for quarterly estimated tax payments and assist with forecasting U.S. tax liabilities.
- Conduct tax research and respond to federal, state, and local tax notices.
- Support tax compliance, tax provision activities, financial statement audits, and work completed by outside tax advisors.
- Manage payroll tax processes through ADP SmartCompliance and collaborate with internal teams on system enhancements.
- Develop tax policies, improve processes, and partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, HR, and Legal.
What We Need From You
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- 2 years of tax experience within public accounting or a multinational corporate environment.
- Knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax, sales & use tax, property tax, and payroll tax.
- Strong tax research and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
All-Star Skillset
The ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:
- Experience with Vertex and/or ADP SmartCompliance.
- Familiarity with ASC 740 and internal controls.
- Experience supporting both partnership and C-corporation tax matters.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Query or other reporting tools.
- Manufacturing or automotive industry experience.

Salary : $90,000 - $95,000
