This is a full-time, onsite leadership opportunity based in the Houston, TX area with relocation assistance available.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead operations across approximately 18 ready-mix concrete plants spanning a 7,000-square-mile territory.
- Drive overall operational performance, including safety, production, quality, environmental compliance, and customer service.
- Own regional P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and operational strategy while ensuring financial goals are achieved.
- Provide leadership and direction to Production, Dispatch, Fleet, and Plant Management teams overseeing approximately 300 employees.
- Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, productivity, and operational performance.
- Manage fleet operations to ensure equipment utilization, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders in sales, quality, finance, and operations to support business objectives.
- Build strong leadership teams through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
- Deliver executive-level presentations and communicate operational performance, business initiatives, and strategic plans.
- Travel regularly between plant locations throughout the Houston area while providing visible field leadership.
What We Need From You
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- 7 years of ready-mix concrete operations experience.
- 5 years of multi-site operations leadership experience managing large teams across multiple facilities.
- Proven experience owning P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and operational strategy.
- Strong background managing transportation and fleet operations.
- Demonstrated success leading safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Executive presence with the ability to make high-level operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel regularly between plant locations throughout the region.
All-Star Skillset
The ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience leading large regional ready-mix concrete operations.
- Engineering or technical operations background.
- Experience presenting operational performance to executive leadership.
- Proven track record of developing leaders and building succession plans for senior leadership roles.
