About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control General Manager to lead and oversee food safety and quality programs across a nationwide network of food distribution, warehouse, and kitchen operations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and consistent food safety standards across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on food safety leader with experience managing multi-site operations, leading remote quality teams, and serving as the primary point of accountability for audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Quality Leadership
- Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide food safety and quality programs in alignment with FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and customer requirements
- Ensure all facilities maintain continuous audit readiness
Nationwide Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of 10 Quality Control professionals across multiple U.S. locations
- Establish performance expectations, KPIs, and conduct regular reviews
Audits & Compliance
- Prepare for and lead regulatory, customer, and third-party audits
- Conduct scheduled and unannounced internal audits and inspections
- Manage corrective actions and follow-up to ensure sustained compliance
Operational Oversight
- Partner with Operations, Logistics, and Service Center leadership to integrate food safety standards into daily operations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across all facilities
Risk Management & Problem Resolution
- Investigate customer complaints and food safety incidents
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions
Training & Documentation
- Develop and deliver food safety training programs
- Maintain SOPs, food safety records, and compliance documentation
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare operational, compliance, and performance reports for leadership
- Communicate trends, risks, and improvement opportunities clearly and effectively
Qualifications
Required Experience & Skills
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance within food manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environments
- Proven experience leading multi-site or remote teams
- Strong working knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, and GFSI standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide and work flexible hours as needed
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in warehouse and service center environments with varying temperatures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment in fast-paced operational settings

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
