About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and tools. You will work from technical drawings and specifications, ensuring all parts meet the required quality standards. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, excellent mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Machines we use include: Mill – Haas 3 & 4 Axis; Lathe – Haas 2 axis, Fanuc 2 axis, Okuma 2 & 5 Axis; EDM - Fanuc; Agie Sinker.
Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes) to produce precision parts and components.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to understand specifications and tolerances.
- Select and set up appropriate tools, attachments, and fixtures for each machining operation.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot issues with machine performance, tooling, or programming.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal operation and longevity.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
- Document production runs, including completed work, adjustments, and quality control measures.
- Forklift operation experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in CNC machining or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming (e.g., G-code), setup, and operation.
- Familiarity with machining processes such as milling, turning, and grinding.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and best practices in a machining environment.
- Good physical stamina and dexterity are required, as the role may involve lifting and standing for extended periods.
