Forklift/ General Labor

Staff Source is seeking General Labor/Forklift Drivers for an outdoor scrap yard in the South Chicago area.

Job Description:

•             Safely operate forklifts in order to complete assigned tasks including:  loading and unloading,

moving, staging, pulling orders, and transporting material

•             Maintain a clean work environment including sweeping up metal scraps

•             Perform a full, in-depth inspection of forklifts before using and immediately notify the

Supervisor of any maintenance or safety concerns

•             Completes necessary documentation including, but not limited to, daily safety log

•             Stock and maintain inventory

•             Consistently searching for more efficient and effective ways to improve processes, embrace

change and remain dedicated to continuous improve

•             Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA standards

•             Assist other operators as needed

Requirements:

•             Pass pre-employment drug test, background check, and assessment testing

•             Capability to stand, bend, pull, and twist for extended periods of time

•             High school diploma or GED required

•             Must have reliable transportation

•             Minimum of 2 years forklift experience required

•             Steel toed shoes required

•             Ability to embraces change and is dedicated to continually improve and consistently searching for more efficient and effective ways to improve processes and

procedures

•             Excellent verbal and written skills with all levels of the organization and ability to develop rapport with other members within the company

Must be willing to work outdoors.
