Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy-duty vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions efficiently.
- Conduct inspections, identify faults, and create detailed repair estimates for approval.
- Replace or repair faulty parts and components, such as engines, brakes, transmission, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of vehicles and prevent breakdowns.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on each vehicle.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be a veteran with prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a diesel mechanic vocational or technical training program is a plus.
- Proven expertise in diesel engine diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with various heavy-duty vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy vehicle parts and perform manual tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
