Position: Full Time Legal Assistant (flexible starting no later than June 1, 2026 – December 04, 2026)
Pay: Pay rate may vary depending on the education and experience level.
Schedule: On-site/in-office 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Mon- Fri)
Job Description:
Seeking an experienced and self-motivated Legal Assistant to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management.
Responsibilities
· Provide administrative support to solo practitioner attorney and enhance office effectiveness
· Handle communication with clients, including scheduling for the attorney
· Locate and develop case relevant information
· Prepare and electronically file basic legal documents and correspondence
· Answer and direct phone calls, including new client intake and conflict checks
· Maintain contact lists and file status
· Monitor deadlines and heavy concentration on calendar management, client file management, including opening and closing of digital and physical files
· Handle client payments including credit card processing
· Other duties as assigned by the attorney, including but not limited to office upkeep and ordering office supplies
Requirements and skills
· Proven working experience as Legal Assistant is preferred
· Drafting, proofreading, formatting, and filing pleadings, other legal documents, and correspondence.
· Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and district court efiling system
· Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
· Computer literacy on Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook as well as Adobe, Power Point, Sage TimeSlips, etc.
· Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
· Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills, prioritizing and managing tasks/projects with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
· Ability to uphold client information in the strictest confidence
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
