The Warehouse Operations Lead supports field and shop operations by receiving, organizing, staging, and delivering materials, tools, and equipment needed for commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. This role ensures accurate inventory, safe material handling, and timely support to shop teams, field teams, operations teams, and vendors.ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handling & LogisticsReceive, inspect, and store materials, tools, and equipment in the warehouse or connex units.Stage materials for field crews and load/unload trucks.Package materials for shipment (shrink wrap, boxing, labeling) as needed.Maintain material organization to ensure quick access and efficient workflow.Inventory ManagementTrack inventory levels for warehouse and connex units; update logs and usage records.Monitor tool inventory and manage tool check-in/check-out procedures.Order materials and supplies as directed.Quality & SafetyInspect incoming and outgoing materials; ensure damaged items are not accepted or sent to job sites.Perform and log fire extinguisher inspections for the office and company vehicles.Follow all company safety protocols, including forklift and company vehicle SOPs.Perform preventative maintenance for forklifts, vehicles, and trailers; report additional service needs.General Shop SupportMaintain clean and safe shop and yard areas.Perform grounds and facility maintenance as needed.Support efficient daily operations by following standard procedures and communicating clearly with supervisors and team members.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience preferred; construction industry experience a plus.Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain).Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate warehouse equipment.Basic computer, math, reading, and writing skills.Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Professional demeanor with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.Knowledge & SkillsUnderstanding of material handling and freight loading/unloading procedures.Familiarity with inventory control practices.Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain urgency.Commitment to safety, quality, and efficient workflow.Core CompetenciesEfficiency & organizationInitiative & adaptabilityEffective communicationQuality-focused workStrong work ethic and reliabilityWorking ConditionsFrequent lifting, carrying, and moving materials up to 75 lbs.Regular operation of forklifts, company vehicles, and other equipment.Mandatory use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, boots, hard hats).No loose clothing or jewelry permitted while operating machinery.
