Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and direction for all ABA programs, ensuring services align with the organization’s mission, ethical standards, and payer/regulatory requirements (e.g., BACB, Medicaid, Carelon/CareFirst, BHCOE).
- Oversee clinical quality and integrity by reviewing and approving assessments, treatment plans, behavior intervention plans (BIPs), skill acquisition programs, progress reports, and discharge reports.
- Supervise and mentor BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians, including oversight of case management, clinical decision-making, documentation standards, and competency development.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines, including BACB ethics codes, state licensure laws, insurance regulations, and accreditation standards (such as BHCOE).
- Develop, implement, and refine clinical policies and workflows (e.g., supervision procedures, documentation timelines, treatment planning protocols, crisis management processes, onboarding/training).
- Collaborate with administrative leadership (HR, Billing, Scheduling, Credentialing) to ensure efficient staffing, caseload distribution, scheduling, and service delivery.
- Conduct data-driven reviews of client progress, program effectiveness, and clinical outcomes; implement improvements based on trends, audits, and feedback.
- Lead parent training initiatives, ensuring caregivers receive high-quality support aligned with treatment goals and behavior-analytic best practices.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of clinical staff to foster growth, professionalism, and adherence to ABA best practices.
- Support community and interdisciplinary collaboration, including coordination with schools, pediatricians, and related service providers to enhance client outcomes.
Requirements
- BCBA certification and state licensure (LBA) required; extensive ABA clinical experience with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis, including assessment (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, FA/FBA), treatment planning, data-based decision making, and behavior reduction strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with experience supervising BCBAs, RBTs, and/or clinical teams.
- Thorough understanding of payer requirements, authorization processes, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance within ABA service delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain clinical concepts clearly to staff, caregivers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and high clinical quality.
- Experience with BHCOE accreditation standards is preferred but not required.
