Appliance Recycler

The St. Vincent de Paul is accepting applications for an Appliance Recycler. The person in this position will be responsible for movement of metal stack and supplies used in recycling of CFC’s and metals by performing the job duties below. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: use of hands and arms to handle, feel, and reach. Some heavy lift/push/pull required. Job Description:

• Assist with inspection of incoming units to determine what is recyclable and what is salable.
• Recycle air conditioners and other appliance units.
• Drain oils from compressors and store in appropriate containers for recycling.
• Assist with loading, unloading and storage of metal stock and supplies in designated areas as well as loading and unloading major appliances for the retail store.
• Maintain all tools and equipment, recommending when repairs are needed.
• This list is not all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Lift items 35-50 lbs
