What are the responsibilities and job description for the Appliance Repair Technician position at AMS Services Appliance Repair Company?
Appliance Repair Technician – Eugene / Springfield
Bring your appliance repair skills to AMS Services as we expand our Eugene-area team. We are looking for a local technician to cover Eugene, Springfield, and nearby communities. Start part-time, with the opportunity to expand your availability as customer demand grows.
Apartment, property-management, and facilities-maintenance technicians are welcome if you have personally diagnosed and repaired household appliances. Your experience does not have to come from an appliance repair company. This opportunity is for hands-on repair technicians, not installation-only or general maintenance work without appliance diagnosis experience.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
- Customer appointments, dispatching, scheduling, and office support
- Housecall Pro access and assistance with parts ordering
- Weekly payouts on completed and paid jobs
- Part-time or full-time availability considered
COMPENSATION AND WORK ARRANGEMENT
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an hourly or salaried employee position. Parts costs are deducted from the customer payment, and the remaining amount is split 50/50 between the technician and AMS.
The advertised $60,000–$150,000 annual range represents potential earnings, not guaranteed pay. Earnings depend on completed and paid jobs, availability, customer demand, and repair skills. We do not guarantee a minimum income, full schedule, or number of service calls.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
- At least 6 months of paid, hands-on household appliance diagnosis and repair experience, including qualifying apartment/property-maintenance experience
- Ability to troubleshoot independently using a multimeter and service information, and complete repairs safely
- Experience with washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, or ranges—tell us which categories you handle confidently
- Own reliable vehicle, smartphone, and professional repair tools; valid driver's license
- Reliable communication with customers and dispatch, accurate job documentation, and professional customer service
- Willingness to work as a 1099 independent contractor
An LLC and General Liability Insurance must be in place before starting; qualified candidates may arrange these during onboarding.
EPA 608 certification is preferred, not required. Sealed-system refrigerator repairs are not required.
SERVICE AREA
Our primary service area is Eugene and Springfield. Applicants based in these communities or nearby are welcome. Coverage of nearby Junction City and Cottage Grove is encouraged to provide more opportunities for appointments. We will agree on your service radius and coverage before assigning jobs. Please tell us which locations you can regularly cover.
You are not required to cover Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, or Sweet Home for this Eugene position. Additional areas are covered only by mutual agreement.
READY TO TALK?
Apply with your work history and a brief example of an appliance you personally diagnosed and repaired: the problem, how you identified the cause, and what you fixed. Tell us your available days and earliest start date. We are looking to connect with qualified applicants promptly. Initial communication is through Indeed messages.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Application Question(s):

- Which of Eugene, Springfield, Junction City, and Cottage Grove can you regularly cover? Please include your maximum service radius, available days, and earliest start date. Coverage will be agreed before assigning jobs.
