SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Grant Funding is primarily responsible for working with the Senior Management team to identify and develop funding and grant opportunities to support the strategic vision for organizational growth, leveraging government, foundation, and partnership opportunities for new or expanded programming. The Senior Director supports new program planning and development in close collaboration with SVDP’s Chief Operating Officer and CEO/President to ensure that programmatic growth is adequately resourced. The Senior Director takes a direct role in facilitating and coordinating communication for grant and contract compliance and provides oversight of all Grants Department functions including supervision of Grants Department Staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Strategic Development
- Works collaboratively with the Senior Management team and Program Directors to identify and pursue areas of organization growth based upon SVDP’s Strategic Plan.
- Develops annual funding strategy plan in coordination with the Senior Management team for all competitive funding from Government and Foundation sources.
- Works collaboratively with Senior Management team and the Development Department to ensure a strategic approach to stewarding Government, Foundation, and Partnership funders.
- Researches and identifies funding opportunities from Government, Foundation, and other Partnerships that are consistent with the annual funding strategy plan for recognized growth areas and current programming.
- Works collaboratively with Chief Operating Officer to clearly understand and articulate program needs, services, and outcomes to funders.
- Oversees development and maintenance of a centralized Language & Messaging Database in collaboration with Development, Communications, Data, and Program teams to ensure consistency and clarity in external communications.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of a comprehensive Policy and Advocacy Framework to advance SVDP’s mission through strategic communications.
Grants Administration
- Leads Grants Department and all grants’ functions, including prospecting, grant writing, competitive applications, grant contracts and tracking, and timely reporting.
- Directs all aspects of the planning, writing, and submission of competitive funding from Government, Foundation, and Partnership sources.
- Develops and implements Grants Department policies and procedures to streamline internal grant processes and communicate grants functions to Program Leadership.
- Supervises the Assistant Director Grants Management and the Grants Specialist.
- Schedules and leads monthly grants strategy meeting.
- Schedules and leads weekly grants team meetings.
- Works closely and collaboratively with the Senior Management team, Program Leadership, and Data and Reporting Director to monitor and ensure accurate and timely reporting for grant-driven services.
- Oversees grant contract processing and tracking to facilitate timely receipt and processing of all grant agreements.
- Facilitates internal communications and collaborations across programs and departments as required to fulfill grant requirements or to generate new grant opportunities as appropriate.
- Serves as the primary contact for key funding partners, communicating about areas of funding opportunities, applications, and requirements for current grants and addressing any funder questions.
- Works collaboratively with the Grants Accounting staff and their financial funder counterparts to help resolve contract issues that may impact receipt of payment.
SECONDARY DUTIES
- Collaborates with the Senior Management Team in the area of planning, and annual and long-range goal setting.
- Assumes responsibility for additional projects as assigned.
- Upholds the vision, mission, and values of St. Vincent de Paul.
- Assists with and attends special events held by St. Vincent de Paul.
- Attends, and as necessary represents St. Vincent de Paul in, external meetings and events.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree, preferred.
- 5 years’ federal grant writing and management experience required.
- 2 years’ private grant writing and management experience required.
- 2 years’ supervisory experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Blackbaud’s Raiser Edge and Financial Edge, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Power BI, experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
