The Mathematics Department invites applications for a Full-Time Assistant Professor position, starting Fall 2025. We seek a dynamic educator and scholar who is committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching across all levels of mathematics. Candidates with expertise in Data Science and Statistics are especially encouraged to apply, particularly those who can contribute to both teaching and research initiatives in these areas.
Essential Functions/Duties:
· Teach undergraduate mathematics courses at all levels (typically 4 courses per semester)
· Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment
· Engage in scholarly activity, particularly in data science or statistics, when applicable
· Support departmental and institutional service initiatives
· Mentor students and contribute to the academic life of the department
QUALIFICATIONS
· Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution (Candidates with a Masters Degree may be considered for an instructor position)
· Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate mathematics courses, including introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student success in diverse learning environments
