$97,032.00 - $161,678.40
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for surveillance, prevention and control of infection. Assists with policy and procedure development and implementation while maintaining CDC, OSHA, TJC/ CMS and other regulatory agency directives. Acts as a primary education consultant to hospital employees, physicians, patients and visitors in safe Infection Control/Prevention practices.
Possesses knowledge of hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for coordination of the hospital-wide Infection Control Program which includes surveillance, analysis, risk reduction, outbreak control of HAIs and reporting of nosocomial infections; educating employees about infection control; and the development of health system policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet Joint Commission, OSHA, Public Health Department, and Center for Disease Control requirements.
In collaboration with the Quality Director, and Sub ? Acute Administrator , the Infection Control Manager supports and acts as a resource to Administration, Medical Staff, and all hospital services and is responsible for heading multiple performance improvement initiatives. Performs safety rounds of the physical plant to insure basic Infection Control/Prevention and safety practices are adhered to in all hospital departments at St Rose Hospital, including the Sub-Acute Unit in order to maintain a safe environment for patients, physicians, visitors and hospital employees.
Required Qualification: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or closely related field.
2. Maintains membership in the San Francisco Bay Area Association of Professions in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APICE).
3. CBIC ? Certificate in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC), within 2yrs of hire.
4. Knowledge of theory, techniques and practices of infection control.
5. Three (3) or more years of work experience in an acute care setting or health related field, such as direct patient care, clinical or laboratory research, epidemiology, or infectious disease.
