Job Summary
Job description/Responsibilities: PER-DIEM ALL Shifts APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE: $84.62 - $104.05 JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care given to his/her assigned patients. Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. 1. Assist with clinical and operational processes to improve patient health and minimize prehospitalization and missed treatments. 2. Demonstrates effective use of supplies and staff labor hours. 3. Provides, directs and supervises the care of the patients undergoing hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and other therapeutic treatment modalities supported by the Acute Dialysis Program. 4. Administer medications as ordered by the physician. 5. Assist with the implementation of anemia management and medication protocols as requested. 6. Provides safe therapeutic care in a knowledgeable, skillful and continuous manner involving all members of the health care team. 7. Demonstrates competence in the care of young adult, adult, and geriatric patients (when/if assigned to these patients) relative to determining each patient's age-related and other physical, psychosocial and cultural needs and carry out patient care activities. 8. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to legal issues and patient rights in a confidential manner. 9. Maintains current California licensure and service specific certifications while demonstrating an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice based on the Nurse Practice Act and hospital standards of care. 10. Knowledge of and comply with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including health care professionals practice act requirements.

Required Qualification: LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS 1. Current valid CA Registered Nurse License required. 2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. 3. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. (within 2 months of hire) 4. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required. (within 6 months of hire) 5. Sexual Harassment/ Bullying Prevention Certification required. (1 month from hire) 6. Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent; BSN preferred. 7. Nephrology certification preferred. 8. Minimum two years acute hemo & peritoneal dialysis nursing experience preferred.
