Visitor Center and St. Pete Store Manager

The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, customer-focused Visitor Center & St. Pete Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our Visitor Center and retail store—both in-person and online. About the Role

The Manager is responsible for all operational, merchandising, and customer-service functions of the Visitor Center and St. Pete Store. This includes inventory management, e-commerce oversight, volunteer coordination, data-driven decision making, and developing new revenue opportunities through product innovation, partnerships, and merchandising enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, informative, and engaging visitor experience while promoting Chamber members, local attractions, and tourism partners.
• Oversee daily store operations, including POS transactions, cash handling, stocking, organization, and light facility upkeep.
• Manage in-store and online inventory with accuracy and efficiency to ensure product availability.
• Lead all visual merchandising, optimizing layout, signage, and product placement to drive sales.
• Manage the store’s e-commerce platform, including product uploads, inventory sync, order fulfillment, and online customer service.
• Review sales reports and website analytics to identify trends and recommend improvements to product mix, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Generate creative revenue ideas—new product lines, artist collaborations, themed collections, bundles, seasonal offerings, and merchandising updates.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers and part-time Visitor Center Specialists to ensure exceptional service and operational coverage.
• Build and maintain relationships with local artists, makers, Chamber members, and Visit St. Pete Clearwater partners.
• Support Chamber-wide events and ensure visitor resources, displays, and promotional materials are organized and fully stocked.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Excellent verbal communication skills; multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Exceptional customer service and hospitality mindset.
• Experience managing retail operations and e-commerce platforms (highly preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience (WebLink/GrowthZone) a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Creative problem-solver with an entrepreneurial approach.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Prior experience managing volunteers or part-time staff.
• Friendly, positive, and comfortable engaging with diverse audiences.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service management experience.
• Minimum 2 years of retail management experience, ideally including merchandising or e-commerce.
