Primary Job Functions:
The High School Classroom Aide will assist teachers in fostering an organized, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students in grades 7–12. This position requires collaboration with classroom teachers, the ability to offer individualized support, and a commitment to the smooth operation of daily academic routines. The aide must model positive behavior, support school policies, and demonstrate care for the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development of adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Support: Assist with the implementation of lessons and activities, provide one-on-one or small group support, and help meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner with teachers and staff, participate in meetings when needed, and maintain professional and respectful communication with students, families, and colleagues.
- Student Support: Offer academic and emotional encouragement, support students with special needs or learning accommodations, and foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; post-secondary coursework or experience in education preferred
- Previous experience working with students in an academic setting is a plus, but not required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise patience, and build rapport with adolescents
- Must pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Toledo VIRTUS child protection training
Salary and Benefits:
This is a full-time, 10-month hourly position with the potential for annual renewal. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Full-time employees are eligible for a competitive benefits package.
