What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper 30 hours per week position at St Paul's Monastery?
Overview
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning the floors of the Monastery and the public spaces and bedrooms used by the Benedictine Center. Mostly Monday through Friday with occoaisnal Saturdays.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Monastery:
- Clean public restrooms daily
- Clean staff restrooms daily
- Vacuum carpet in hallways, offices, work room, Scholastica room, Library, Benedicta Riepp room, elevator and Community Room weekly
- Water plants
- Wash, dry and iron linens as needed
- Clean Hospitality Rooms as used
- Dust offices, Scholastica room, Library, Benedicta Riepp room bi-weekly
- Vacuum stairwells A and B monthly.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Benedictine Center:
- Collaborate with Benedictine Center staff and volunteers
- Assist with preparation of hospitality details for individuals and groups
- Assist with inquiries about room availability
- Prepare a clean and appealing environment for guests:
- Clean guest bedrooms and bathrooms, and change linens when guests leave
o Set out clean towels and sheets in guest rooms
- Vacuum and mop as needed
- Make and distribute informational materials
- Place names on rooms for BC guests
- Assist in setting up conference rooms for groups
- Welcome guests and help with their questions, as needed
- Identify maintenance issues and forward to Plant Manager
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- At least 18 years of age
- Dependable and honest
- Commitment to quality and hospitality
- Self-starter who can identify what needs to be done and do it
- Able to vacuum and mop frequently
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Must be able to move or lift up to 50 pounds

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
