Job Overview
We are seeking a kind, organized, and energetic Elementary Physical Education (PE) Teacher to inspire young learners to develop a lifelong love for movement, health, and wellness. In this role, you will design engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate physical education lessons for students in grades K-5. We have all the equipment you will need to implement fun, engaging activities to get kids moving. Our schedule details 30 minute classes for grades K-5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The PE day starts just after 11am and finishes at 3:20pm.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, age-appropriate PE lessons that incorporate various sports, games, and fitness activities aligned with curriculum standards.
- Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning styles and accommodate students with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or in special education programs.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment conducive to active learning.
- Assess student performance regularly through observations.
Experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying developmental needs.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and curriculum implementation for young learners.
- Familiarity with educational compliance standards, including safety regulations and inclusive teaching practices for students with special needs.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining positive relationships.
