Saint Mary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic Preschool Aide to support our early childhood program. The ideal candidate loves working with young children, understands developmentally appropriate practice, and brings warmth, patience, and professionalism to the classroom each day.
This position supports two preschool learning environments and assists teachers in creating safe, joyful, hands-on experiences aligned with early learning best practices. The PK Aide plays an essential role in helping every child feel seen, loved, and heard within our faith-filled school community.
Responsibilities
Support lead teachers in supervising children and facilitating classroom routines.
Assist with learning centers, play-based activities, and small-group or individual support.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
Engage positively with children using warm, responsive interactions.
Support social–emotional development through modeling, redirection, and co-regulation strategies.
Assist with transitions, bathroom routines, arrival/dismissal, snack, and outdoor play.
Collaborate with teachers to ensure consistency and communication across the PK program.
Uphold the mission and Catholic identity of Saint Mary School.
Qualifications
Required:
Experience working with young children (PK–grade 1 preferred)
Warm, patient, flexible, team-oriented disposition
Ability to follow routines and support a structured, developmentally appropriate classroom
Preferred:
Coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education
Experience in a preschool or child care setting
Familiarity with early learning standards (RIELDS) or NAEYC-aligned practices
