Position Title: MAINTENANCE WORKER

Reports To: Facilities Manager

FLSA: Full-time, Non-exempt

St. Mary’s Parish is a vibrant Catholic congregation located in Historic Annapolis, Maryland serving over 5,000
families. St. Mary’s Parish includes St. Mary’s Church, St. John Neumann Mission Church, St. Mary’s Elementary
School and St. Mary’s High School.

Purpose: St. Mary’s is seeking a Maintenance Worker who will be responsible for the maintenance,
cleanliness and repair of the Parish, school facilities and grounds. Performs a variety of routine
maintenance and minor repairs including carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks. This is a 40
hour/week position. Some overtime might be required and ability to be on-call for emergencies outside
of normal work hours as determined by supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of facilities as directed by

supervisor.

• Perform a variety of repairs and maintenance including painting, carpentry, minor

plumbing and electrical work, furniture assembly or removal and equipment upkeep and
repair.

• Perform general custodial duties including trash removal from grounds and buildings,

cleaning up spills, buffing floors, unloading supplies, etc.

• Maintain campus grounds by cutting grass, weeding, removing leaves, clearing

sidewalks, snow and ice removal, etc.

• Perform a variety of cleaning and system maintenance and repair duties. (e.g. replace

filters, clean air ducts, mopping floors, cleaning carpets).

• Set up tables, chairs and other physical items for events and break down the same items

at conclusion of function.

• Ability to lift in excess of sixty pounds independently is required. Ability to stand, walk,

stoop, bend and operate large equipment for extended periods of time is
required. Ascend and descend ladders as needed.
