Job Description
Location: City of Aberdeen
Department: Department of Public Works
Pay varies on position hired for and experience
Maintenance Worker - Entry Level: Pay Starts at $20.86 / hourly
The entry level candidate will be trained to perform a variety of tasks to maintain the city's infrastructure and public spaces. This position potentially includes work with water lines, sewer lines, park and building maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in all weather conditions
- Valid Driver's License
CDL Licensed Maintenance Worker: Pay starts at $22.99 / hourly
This position performs a variety of maintenance duties on city -owned property, vehicles, and equipment. This position requires a valid driver's license with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) endorsement.
Qualifications include, but not limited to:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) endorsement
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions
Utility Worker: Pay will be determined based on experience and qualifications
The candidate is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the construction, maintenance, operation, repair, and /or replacement of utility systems. This position requires knowledge of and experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of utility systems, including water, wastewater, and storm drain systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years experience in the operation and maintenance of utility systems (water and sewer)
- Valid driver's license, CDL preferred
- MDE Water Distribution 1 and/or Wastewater Collection 2 licenses preferred
