St. Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal School is an accredited, co-educational independent day school in Severna Park, MD, enrolling 240 students (Preschool-8th Grade). St. Martin’s is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Third Grade Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be energetic, flexible, and child-focused and will have a genuine interest in joining a small and collaborative school community and providing a positive learning experience for each student. This person would also embrace the families at the school and demonstrate a passion for helping children develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
Position: Third Grade Teacher
Location: St. Martin’s -in-the-Field Episcopal School, Severna Park, MD
Start Date: August 2026
Salary Range: $46,000 – $53,500
Position Overview:
The Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging lessons in all subject areas, including math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. This role will require effective classroom management, fostering positive student relationships, and collaborating with colleagues to support the academic and social development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, student-centered lesson plans
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and guardians
- Adapt instructional practices to meet the diverse needs of students
- Foster social-emotional development through activities, discussions, and positive interactions
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance student learning
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
- Teaching certification preferred (but not required)
- Experience teaching kindergarten-4th grade (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- A passion for teaching and a genuine commitment to student success
Physical Demands:
The position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including walking, climbing stairs, running, standing, bending, and reaching. Candidates must be able to actively participate in all activities related to the role.
