What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Maintenance Technician position at St. Louis Housing Authority?
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a non-exempt position responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair and preventive maintenance services of the Authority's buildings, equipment and grounds.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma and specialized training related to the repair of buildings and grounds and at least two years of experience related to building maintenance involving plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing welding. Certification in HVAC, and/or electrical repairs preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Skill in maintenance, repair and minor installation of electrical systems, emergency lighting, electrical control systems and all types of electrical fixtures and equipment.
- Skill in the maintenance repair and replacement of plumbing piping, fittings, valves, controls and fixtures and the unblocking, cleaning and flushing of sanitary sewers.
- Skill in all phases of building maintenance including structural, painting, plastering, etc.
- Skill in welding repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, stooping, crawling and reaching.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, dirt, odors and fumes.
- Working knowledge of and skill in the use of power and hand tools, power equipment, machines, meters, materials and methods used in building maintenance, plumbing, electric, welding, etc.
- Basic knowledge of work hazards and safety practices.
- Knowledge and skill in using computers and data base management software.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and building codes.
- Attention to detail to ensure repairs are completed timely and in a professional, workmanlike manner.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with residents, contractors and agency staff courteously and pleasantly.
- Must have and maintain a current driver's license and be insurable under the Authority's automobile insurance.
