Position Summary
The Administrative Clerk performs administrative duties of moderate complexity, including typing, filing, recordkeeping, and answering phones, while providing front-line customer service and managing inventory.
Primary Duties Performed
- Enter and verify data in the computer system.
- Issue office supplies as needed.
- Maintain an organized filing system for departmental records.
- Order and manage inventory supplies.
- Screen phone calls, answer questions, and forward inquiries.
- Serve as a front desk contact for community members and students.
- Assist the secretary and faculty with tasks such as designing handouts, proofreading documents, and checking online files.
- Support the Chair with event planning, help with the event, and conduct assessments afterward.
- Required skills: Proficiency in Adobe Reader, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Teams.
- Availability for evening shifts starting at 3 PM, Monday through Thursday, preferably on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Work hours: 10 to 20 hours per week.
- An arts background is a plus.
- Be prepared for tasks that require physical mobility, such as opening boxes and carrying supplies.
- Ability to be a self-starter and follow directions from emails.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) months of full-time general clerical experience
- Must pass skills assessment at the basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Preferred: some college education
