St Julien Hotel & Spa is looking for an experienced and professional Lead Bartender to craft exceptional alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering elevated, full-service hospitality to guests dining at the T-Zero Bar. This role also serves as a key leader within the department, supporting the Director of Restaurants & Bars and helping to ensure smooth, consistent operations in their absence.
Essential Job Functions:
- Understand the importance of, and adhere to, Four Star/Four Diamond and Preferred service standards.
- Act as a steady, professional presence behind the bar – setting the tone for service, teamwork, and guest engagement.
- Perform all opening and closing duties; ensure bar and service stations are fully stocked, organized, and service-ready.
- Provide attentive, full-service bar hospitality, including accurate order taking, service sequencing, and timing.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all food, beverage, and cocktail offerings; confidently communicate menus, specials, and recommendations to guests.
- Verify guest identification in compliance with all applicable alcohol service laws and regulations.
- Remain attentive to guest alcohol consumption and respond appropriately to signs of intoxication, partnering with Hotel security when necessary.
- Hold self and peers accountable to Hotel policies and procedures through consistent example and professionalism.
- Monitor staff’s compliance with safe/sanitary food and beverage handling and responsible alcohol service.
- Accurately use the Point of Sales system, process payments, and handle all transactions with integrity and attention to detail.
- Assist in managing inventory and requisitioning liquor and other supplies, as requested and with Management’s approval.
- Handle guest complaints with courtesy and expediency to the standards of St Julien Hotel & Spa, elevating larger issues to the attention of upper management.
- Maintain a clean, polished, and well-organized bar/lounge environment at all times.
- Continually look for opportunities to improve procedures, training, and other Hotel services.
- Other duties as requested by Manager.

- Has a passion for hospitality and exceptional guest service, and a desire to lead others by example.
- Should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deliver efficient and detail-oriented service while maintaining luxury service standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ bartending experience in a high-volume, service-driven environment required. Must include prior experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, and/or upscale bar programs.
- Must be well-versed in bar/restaurant operations and capable of executing all essential duties listed.
- Must possess strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and both classic and contemporary cocktail presentation – with the ability to confidently and appropriately guide guest selections.
- Valid TIPS/ServSafe certification required, or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
- Must be able to stand for several hours at a time and be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a frequent basis.
- Open and flexible availability is required. Interested candidates must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
