What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse position at St. Joseph School?
St. Joseph Catholic School seeks a full-time School Nurse. The successful candidate should be a practicing Catholic with a joyful, hardworking personality that is able to handle the daily rigors of a school-day. Registered Nurse license is a plus, LPN, Certified Nurse's Assistants (CNA) and Medical Assistants (MA) will be considered.
Areas of responsibility: Provide first aid care and health assessment; Communicate with teachers and staff to ensure the safety and well-being of students; Administer medications and monitor delegated medication administration; Educate and train staff on asthma, life-threatening allergies, diabetes, and blood-borne pathogens. Tasks include filing both diocesan and state reports; overlooking food allergies for school events. Ability to maintain confidentiality is critical.
