St. Joseph's Villa is currently recruiting for a HVAC Technician to join the Facilities Dept. This position works under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and the Director of Facilities Management to ensure that buildings and grounds are properly maintained with an emphasis on the maintenance and installation of heating and air conditioning systems.
All work is performed within a systems-based framework and a psycho-educational model. Work is performed collaboratively with and in support of other services offered by St. Joseph's Villa. Work is performed safely, effectively, to the highest ethical standards, and in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards and St. Joseph’s Villa’s mission, values, and guiding principles.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
On Call Rotation Schedule
Salary: Starting at $24/hour
Status: Full Time Hourly Non-Exempt

Responsibilities
- Maintains, trouble shoots and repairs heating and air conditioning systems and controls including split system air conditioning (outside condensing units and inside air handlers) and the associated thermostats, controls, and wiring.
- Maintains, trouble shoots and repairs variable air volume (VAV) systems including three-way valves and associated controls.
- Maintains, trouble shoots and repairs chilled water air conditioning systems including chiller barrel and associated controls and valves.
- Cleans coils on air handlers and condensers. Replaces filters.
- Reclaims gases on air conditioning systems, recharges air conditioning compressors.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on all air handling equipment.
- Performs all other duties regularly assigned to Maintenance Worker II, including but not limited to: general carpentry, plumbing, wiring, roofing, painting, installing and repairing sheetrock or plaster walls, replacing glass, cleaning steam vents and tunnels, and moving equipment and furniture.
- Promotes good community relations by exhibiting professional courtesy and conduct both on and off campus.
- Participates in staff meetings and other staff and program group activities.
- Evaluates work processes and methods and submits recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
- Attends scheduled training programs for professional development that includes, at a minimum, trainings required by St. Joseph’s Villa and by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- Serves on on-call rotation.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- HS Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma preferred.
- Must have valid Virginia drivers license and excellent driving record.
- 2 years of related experience.
- Able to use Windows, Outlook, and proprietary software.
- CFC Universal Certification required
