Job Description
To assess the nutritional needs of patients; provide quality nutritional care and monitor response to nutrition therapy as appropriate to the age of the population served (i.e. child, adolescent, adult and geriatric)
Qualifications
Work requires knowledge of theories, principles, & concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science/ closely related field up to 1 yr of post degree course work and/or internship & no previous experience 3-6 months of on job training/orientation. RD/RDN registration required. Work requires the analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs. Work requires the ability to counsel and educate patients and their families, assign and follow up on the work of other employees, and perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus, regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.
The Medical Center offers a full complement of specialty and subspecialty services including ambulatory, behavioral health, cardiovascular, emergency/trauma, internal medicine, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic/spine, rehabilitation, surgical specialty, women’s health, imaging and pediatrics.
