What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Wound Care Nurse position at St. Joseph of Harahan?
We are looking for a Full Time Wound Care Nurse to work Monday - Friday. RN License is required.
Minimum 2 years Wound Care and 1 year Long Term Care Experience
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for nursing care of assigned residents during shift.
- Prepare and administer or supervise preparation and administration of medications and prescribed treatment.
- Chart medications and treatments according to procedure.
- Prepare, administer and document all treatments per physician's order and facility procedures.
- Take vital signs as necessary.
- Contact physicians and record physician's verbal orders. Transcribe physician's order accurately and assure follow-up as indicated.
- Accompany physician on rounds to assist with examinations, answer questions, provide input and receive instructions.
- Accurately measure wounds with timely documentation on skin grid forms.
- Order treatment supplies for the resident per product standardization.
- Ensure that facility rules, infection control standards, policies and procedures are followed
