Overview
We are seeking a Regional Lung Health Coordinator, which is normally covered by a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN). The Regional Lung Health Coordinator supports patients throughout the lung cancer care journey by helping reduce barriers, coordinate services, and improve overall experience for patients and families. This role serves as a care coordinator, educator, and advocate across our region, helping patients move through diagnostic testing, treatment, supportive services, and follow-up care more efficiently. The Regional Lung Health Coordinator also serves as a central point of contact for patients and caregivers and referring providers while maintaining navigation software and data to support quality improvement and clinical research.
Shifts Available: Days (Monday through Friday)
Employment Type: Full-time
Hours: 8-hour shifts – 8:00am to 4:30pm (No weekends, holidays or call)
Location: St Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO

- Must hold an active RRT, RCP, LPN, or RN license in Kansas and Missouri, or be eligible through Compact licensure. This role partners closely with our Business Development team and requires travel throughout Missouri and Kansas to promote this program across our hospitals and communities.

- Guide patients through the lung cancer care process, helping reduce fragmented care and improve timely access to services
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, medical treatment, multidisciplinary care, and supportive services across our region
- Educate patients and families to support informed decision-making and improve understanding of available care options
- Serve as a single point of contact for referring physicians, patients, and caregivers needing assistance with clinical or community resources
- Maintain navigation software and a central database to support patient tracking, quality improvement, and clinical research

- Valid State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse License required
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- PALS certification upon hire and maintain current
- ACLS certification upon hire and maintain current
- Ability to communicate effectively, timely, and in an open, honest manner
- Minimum of 5 years of acute care or pulmonary experience preferred
- NRP certification preferred
