POSITION TITLE: Shuttle Bus/Van Driver Lead

RESPONSIBLE TO: Community Engagement Director

SUMMARY:
This position provides safe transportation of residents and staff members to designated sites.
This position will oversee vehicle maintenance for all vehicles providing transportation; scheduling service, tires, and repairs. In addition this role will have the responsibility of training new hire drivers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Transportation

• Safely transports residents and staff members to designated sites.
• Takes prescriptions from the Pharmacy to other SJU campuses as needed and available
• Performs other duties as assigned by Community Engagement Director when down time occurs. May include but not limited to assisting residents, activities, light maintenance, completing online education, and running errands as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Vehicle Maintenance

• Performing daily checklist on vehicle operation status
• Perform basic vehicle repair operations (ex: windshield wiper replacement)
• Research and maintain relationships with vehicle repair shops and technicians
• Schedule regular oil changes, tire rotations, and other regular upkeep appointments
• Schedule advanced vehicle repair appointments
• Washes and cleans vehicles regularly

• Communicates effectively with residents, co-workers and guests.
• Has daily contact with residents and staff.
• Administers professional conduct with contacts at various sites where residents are transported.
• Establishes a positive rapport with all staff members, residents and outside contacts.

• Understands, supports and adheres to the mission of St. John’s United.

• Obeys safety rules of St. John’s United.
• Identifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Employee Responsibilities

• Follows policy and procedures on annual TB testing.
• Follows policy and procedures on annual influenza vaccinations.
• Attends all mandatory in-services.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Community Engagement Director or person in charge of area where work is being done.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and skills acquired through completion of high school or GED. Must possess a valid MT Drivers License, CDL endorsement preferred.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required

• Must possess a good driving record.
• Willingness and ability to be trained on transfers, oxygen operation and maintenance, or take the SJU CNA course.
• Must be knowledgeable of the Billings community or have ability to use navigation technology such as Google Maps or Apple Maps.
• Able to use a mobile phone, computer, and software such as Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to communicate and interact effectively in a professional manner.
• Ability to function independently in performing assigned duties.
• Must be able to respond to management and staff level employee needs in a timely and professional manner.
• Performs job tasks following established procedures and reports problems or concerns to supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires the ability to stand, bend, lift, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
