Residential Youth Care Worker

· Daily implementation of assigned treatment plan services, including but not limited to, skills development, behavior management implementation, crisis services, daily supportive counseling, as qualified, and transportation services.

· Supervising client family visits, and other family contacts as assigned, and accurately document all family contacts.

· Maintaining awareness of location and behavior of clients at all times, including informing oneself at the beginning of each shift of any necessary information related to the clients.

· Proactive positive involvement and interaction with clients during their day-to-day programming and identified service activities

· Management and monitoring of clients day-to-day programming, including meeting daily with team partners to determine consumer case assignments for the day and to specifically plan proactive services and activities to be provided and documented.

· Facilitating, assisting, and encouraging client’s consistent participation in daily routines such as wake-ups, showering, incentives, transportation, recreational planning and participation, and administering of medications

· Assisting in, and when required, performing for clients, tasks that ensure a clean, safe environment such as cleaning rooms and laundry

· Assisting co-workers and clients in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of public areas of the facility

· Responding to crisis episodes’ clients may experience in a supportive, empathetic, respectful and professional manner

· Communicating with co-workers and the public professionally, courteously and politely

· Assisting in providing youth with opportunities to participate in appropriate activities in the community.

· Preparing, serving, and participating in meals and snacks

· Promptly reporting any safety or health hazards to immediate supervisor

· Providing accurate and timely feedback to supervisor and co-workers with regard to client behaviors, responsiveness to programming and other services and treatment

· Documenting all service delivery and daily programming in the appropriate record, report, log or chart completely, accurately and according to timelines prescribed by the agency and program guidelines (e.g. Medicaid guidelines, etc.)

· Assisting co-workers and clients in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment

· Ensuring all medications are kept secure at all times

· Assisting in ensuring that all licensing and best practices requirements related to the youth cottage and program are implemented.

· Aiding in the on-going implementation of the agency’s Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) program.

· Assisting in ensuring that all allocated weekend money spent is accounted for through the use of receipts.

· Following safe work practices and maintaining safe environments in compliance with established standards, regulations and generally accepted practices

· Actively participating in scheduled supervision to review work performance and any identified goals for professional improvement

· Following directions of supervisors promptly, accurately and completely

· Participating in any in-service training, workshops, etc. as assigned, such as Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention, First Aid, and CPR

· Demonstrating strict confidentiality and security of all consumer records and information.

· Documenting and reporting any suspected abuse/neglect with appropriate staff members and with appropriate agencies as required by law and to function as a “mandated reporter”.

· Driving personal vehicle in certain circumstances and as directed in the performance of job duties, which may be during daylight hours and/or after dark

· Attending and participating in all scheduled meetings

· Working any shift as assigned

· Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
