Position Summary
St. John’s Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and engaging Spanish Teacher for grades 6–12 to inspire students to develop proficiency in the Spanish language while gaining an appreciation for Hispanic cultures. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, builds positive relationships with students, and contributes to a Christ-centered learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction
- Teach Spanish courses for students in grades 6–12.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that promote speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency.
- Foster an interactive classroom environment that encourages active participation and confidence in language learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
Classroom & Student Development
- Establish a positive and respectful classroom culture.
- Encourage curiosity, cultural awareness, and global understanding.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and classroom records.
School Community
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the school's mission.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
- Serve as a positive Christian role model for students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and student success.
- Ability to integrate Christian values into the educational experience.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
