Position: Part‑Time Church Finance Assistant (15-25 hrs/week)
Location: Southeast Michigan
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, occasional Fridays
Reports To: Pastor
Our church is seeking a detail‑oriented and trustworthy Church Finance Assistant to support financial operations, membership records, and general office functions. This in‑office role is ideal for someone who enjoys accounting work, organization, and serving in a ministry environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record weekly offerings, tithes, and contributions
- Manage bank deposits, transfers, and reconciliations
- Process payroll, purchase orders, reimbursements, and year‑end tax documents
- Maintain membership records and statistics
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
- Assist with newsletters, Canva graphics, and general office coverage
- Support the Pastor, Treasurer, and Church Council
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Basic–intermediate accounting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Church Windows or similar software preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
