What are the responsibilities and job description for the Young Toddler Teacher (1yr olds) position at St. James Early Learning Center?
St James Early Learning Center is seeking a highly motivated, nurturing individual to join our Young Toddler classroom. This is a co-teaching position, you alongside your co-teacher will work together to maintain the daily operations of our young toddler classroom. This individual must be comfortable working with young children and can multi-task while meeting the needs of more than one child.
Individuals will maintain the daily routines, play and interact with the children, create fun and engaging lessons planned for the day, apply early childhood development theories in daily activities, take daily observations, communicate with parents, diapering, help with meals, cleaning, and maintaining an orderly room.
Individuals must have the ability to work and maintain high standards of professional ethics with persons of different racial, ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds. Maintaining confidentiality of the families, children, and other center staff.
Salary is based on experience and education.
Job Requirements:
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
- Pass all PA State Clearances-Police, FBI, Child Abuse & NSOR
- Experience in an early childhood environment is a plus but not required
- Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development or a CDA recommended
