Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Staten Island, NY, for a Teaching Assistant. The Teaching Assistant will support lead teachers in implementing engaging, play-based educational activities for young children, fostering their cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Daily responsibilities include assisting with lesson preparation, supporting in-classroom routines and activities, managing classroom behavior, maintaining a safe and organized environment, and communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
Qualifications
- Experience in Assistant Teaching and working collaboratively with educators
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge or experience in Early Childhood Education and developmentally appropriate practices
- Basic understanding of Mathematics to support early learners in foundational numeracy skills
- Passion for Working With Children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for nurturing young learners
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or higher in Early Childhood or Education-related field is preferred
- Ability to adhere to health and safety standards and maintain a clean and secure learning environment
