Theology Teacher
Saint Francis Xavier School in Weymouth, MA is seeking a Theology Teacher with a passion for educating middle school students. Saint Francis Xavier School is dedicated to the Catholic education of students in grades 5–8, nurturing the academic, spiritual, social, and physical development of each child.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Saint Francis Xavier Middle School, a co-ed Catholic school educating students in grades 5–8, is seeking a middle school Theology Teacher who strives to achieve the goals of Catholic education; assumes responsibility for the leadership and management of assigned classes; develops and implements an instructional program according to the needs of students and grade-level standards; maintains detailed and accurate records as required by the school; establishes positive school-community relationships; continues professional development; and performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the Principal.

Develops and implements an instructional program according to the needs of students and grade-level standards:
- Sets high levels of student achievement and continues to raise the academic bar as students grow and meet their potential.
- Uses appropriate teaching and differentiation strategies to meet individual student learning and emotional needs.
- Uses resources available to promote learning experiences for all students.
- Uses a variety of instructional strategies and incorporates technology into instruction.
- Refers students for evaluation and consultation when necessary in collaboration with administration and parents.
- Includes all students in presentations and discussions.
Evaluates student progress effectively:
- Prepares daily lesson plans in advance and in partnership with co-teachers and/or other learning specialists; adjusts lesson plans accordingly as students and classrooms require.
- Uses a variety of ongoing assessments to monitor student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Aligns assessments with goals, objectives, information taught, instructional guidelines, and Curriculum Standards of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston.
- Provides prompt, constructive feedback on student work and performance.
- Maintains proper grading and reporting systems for each student as required by the Principal.
- Meets deadlines with official classroom reports, attendance, and statistics as required by the Principal.
Establishes positive school-community relationships:
- Maintains cooperative relations with all members of the school community.
- Promotes respectful and positive school relationships.
- Holds regular conferences and meetings with parents to discuss student progress and invest families in their student's growth.
- Cooperates with and helps promote various curricular and co-curricular programs within the school.
