Saint Francis Xavier (Weymouth, MA), a co-ed Catholic school educating middle school scholars in grades 5–8, is seeking a Part Time Academic Intervention Teacher with a passion for educating middle school students.
Saint Francis Xavier School is dedicated to the Catholic education of students in grades 5–8, nurturing the academic, spiritual, social, and physical development of each child.
Under the supervision of the Learning Center Director, the Part-time Academic Intervention Teacher will provide academic support and developmentally appropriate educational services to qualifying students on educational plans in 1:1, group, and classroom settings.
Components of Responsibility- Assisting students in achieving academic and social success
- Serve as a supportive assistant to the Learning Center Director and classroom teachers
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure each student’s needs are met
- Assist with classroom management, small group and individual instruction, coaching, monitoring, direction/redirection
- Provide executive functioning support to students during the school day
- Provide Math & ELA support to students during the school day
- Develop and teach lessons that provide engaging learning opportunities for small groups and individual students while meeting required specifications of IEPs and Accommodation Plans
- Assist with and perform a variety of informal assessments and observations to determine the areas in which a student may need extra modified educational support
- Any and all other duties as may be assigned by the building administrator

Job Requirements- Work up to 20 hours per week
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
- Two years of post-secondary education, associate’s degree, or relevant degree/licensure
- Experience working with children in a school setting
