Quality Consultant RN – Southeast Minnesota Region

Full-Time | Exempt | $89,170–$109,325 Annually | Remote with Frequent Regional Travel

St. Francis Health Services of Morris is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a Quality Consultant for our skilled nursing communities in southeastern Minnesota.

The Quality Consultant partners with Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and other facility leaders to strengthen clinical practices, improve resident outcomes, support regulatory compliance, and promote continuous quality improvement. This position serves as a trusted advisor to facility leadership and helps develop practical, sustainable solutions that support high-quality resident care and safety.

This is a remote, regionally based position requiring frequent travel among assigned St. Francis Health Services locations. The successful candidate must reside within reasonable traveling distance of the communities assigned to the Southeast Minnesota Region.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise and support facility Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and clinical leaders regarding quality, compliance, and resident care practices.
  • Plan, develop, implement, assess, and improve clinical programs, policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and Minnesota requirements governing skilled nursing facilities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of CMS regulations, Minnesota nursing home requirements, nursing standards of practice, the Minimum Data Set, CMS Quality Measures, Minnesota Quality Indicators, reimbursement-related quality programs, and other applicable standards.
  • Participate in annual mock surveys and other clinical or compliance audits.
  • Evaluate facility practices, identify areas of concern, and recommend corrective actions and sustainable improvements.
  • Assist facility leaders in developing and implementing plans of correction and performance improvement plans.
  • Establish tracking methods and evaluate whether corrective actions and quality initiatives achieve the intended results.
  • Support facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs, including the development of monitoring tools, assessment methods, standards, and documentation.
  • Prepare and communicate written and verbal findings, recommendations, and progress reports to facility and organizational leadership.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among Administrators, Directors of Nursing, clinical teams, committees, and support departments.
  • Provide education, coaching, and training related to clinical practices, regulatory requirements, quality improvement, and resident safety.
  • Help develop and maintain effective onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other resident care personnel.
  • Promote resident rights, privacy, dignity, safety, and person-centered care.
  • Build effective professional relationships with facility leaders and foster a culture of accountability, creativity, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence.
  • Participate in organizational committees, meetings, workshops, and professional development activities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current, active, and unencumbered Minnesota Registered Nurse license.
  • Three to five years of skilled nursing or long-term care nursing experience.
  • Direct experience with quality improvement, regulatory compliance, survey readiness, or clinical leadership.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and Minnesota regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.
  • Experience with QAPI, quality measures, clinical audits, plans of correction, and performance improvement processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to evaluate complex clinical and operational concerns and provide clear, practical recommendations.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with facility and organizational leaders.
  • Proficiency with electronic clinical systems, Microsoft Office, and other business technology.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned region.
  • Ability to occasionally work extended hours or attend evening or weekend meetings when needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $89,170–$109,325 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity, and organizational considerations.
