Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that meets the educational standards and needs of students.
- Educate students in various aspects of music, including theory, performance, and appreciation.
- Incorporate elements of childhood development into teaching practices to support student growth.
- Provide instruction in various musical genres and techniques.
- Collaborate with other educators and Church staff to integrate music into broader educational and liturgical programs.
- Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression among students.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement to foster strong home-school partnerships.
- Participate in occasional school events to showcase student learning and musical growth, helping to celebrate their achievements and bring the joy of music to the wider school community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field preferred.
- Experience teaching Music in an elementary school settings, with familiarity in classroom management and curriculum implementation.
- Creative, patient, and organized with the ability to make learning fun and accessible.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively and collaborate with colleagues and families.
- A passion for teaching music and inspiring students to explore their musical talents.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training prior to start.
