Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and nurturing Early Childhood Teacher for 2 year-olds to join our team at St. David's Episcopal Day School. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a warm and engaging learning environment that fosters the growth and development of young children. Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with our school's curriculum and cater to the needs of our students with varying abilities, including those with special needs. Lesson plans should align with DE Early Learning Foundations.
- Work with two Assistant Teachers in classroom management.
- Teach literacy and numeracy skills to students in a fun and interactive manner, using a range of teaching strategies and resources.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students, as needed, to ensure they reach their full potential.
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes a sense of belonging and encourages active learning.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and caregivers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of our school's curriculum and policies.
- Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas where additional support is required.
- Implement a range of strategies to promote social and emotional development, including activities that foster empathy, self-awareness, and self-regulation.
Skills:
- DE Teacher Early Childhood (or higher) certificate, CDA, AA or BA in Early Childhood or related field
- 3 - 5 years' experience working with two year-olds, preferably in a group setting.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education and developmental levels.
- Proven ability to develop engaging and inclusive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
- Excellent literacy education skills, with a focus on phonics and reading comprehension.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
